The Bible tells us to have faith in God, (Mark 11:22-24), that He exists. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17).
Faith image 1:
God gives to each person a measure of faith (Romans 12:3), and tells us that if we have faith the size of a mustard seed, then we can speak to this mountain (your problem) and tell it to be removed into the sea, and it will move.(Matthew 17:20). Without faith it is not only impossible to please God, (Hebrews 11:6), but it also prevents some miracles from happening. (Matthew 13:38). Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
The story of Peter getting out of the boat and walking on water shows us that with faith we can do amazing things, maintaining our trust in God. However Peter's walk was short-lived because his faith wavered when the wind came and he became anxious.and started to doubt (Matthew 14:29-31). The natural world is what we are used to seeing, but God operates outside of the nature that He himself created, and so the supernatural is his domain.
Another biblical story shows what is possible when someone has great faith. A Roman centurion asks Jesus to heal his servant, and Jesus responds by saying "I will come and heal him". However, the centurion replied "Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed". Jesus then described him as having great faith. (Matthew 8:5-10).
Faith image 2: "Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour." (Matthew 15:28)
Is it possible to increase this faith that we have been given? Yes it is! If we consider the following Scripture which relates to the race of faith:
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”(Hebrews 12:1-2).
We can take out of this 3 elements:
1. Look up: look toward Jesus, who gave the Holy Spirit to be our guide (Acts 2:1-4), so that we may live the best possible life (John 10:10). Jesus gave each of us a measure of faith (Romans 12:3), and if we stay on the narrow path that he has for us (Matthew 7:13-14), He will also perfect that faith. (Hebrews 12:2)
2. Look back: the “cloud of witnesses” refers to those biblical figures from the past who, though patience and faith, pleased God, as they were wonderful examples to follow. They persevered through times of persecution walking close to God. We can learn and be encouraged from reading about them.
3. Look forward: the race is set before us, and it is sensible that every weight or burden is removed so that we are more streamlined (Psalm 55:22), dealing with our sin (Understanding and Dealing with Sin) and bearing in mind that we are running a marathon, which requires commitment, stamina and endurance.

An article on having the faith to pray for healing
Most Americans pray for healing, where “People who feel a close connection to God, who love God and feel loved by God, are the very people most likely to pray for healing: for themselves or others” Most Americans pray for healing; more than one-fourth have practiced 'laying on of hands'
