It’s best to start with what Biblical Hope is, as it differs greatly from the normal understanding of hope. The Wiley Online Library puts it this way:
“Hope is commonly used to mean a wish : its strength is the strength of the person's desire. But in the Bible hope is the confident expectation of what God has promised and its strength is in His faithfulness.”
The Bible tells us “And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.” (Romans 5:5).
Hope image 1:
God is a God of hope:
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”(Romans 15:13)
Allow the following verses to instill in you a wonderful sense of hope:
"Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!" (Psalm 107:19-21)
"My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh." (Proverbs 4:20-22).
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4).
Hope image 2: "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31)

Scientific evidence of healing
Does hope heal or simply sustain, encourage and uplift us while we are waiting with expectation for God’s healing to come? According to a CNN report (How hope can help you heal), hope plays a role in blocking pain and helps respiration, circulation and motor function.
“Researchers are learning that a change in mind-set has the power to alter neurochemistry. "Belief and expectation -- the key elements of hope -- can block pain by releasing the brain's endorphins and enkephalins, mimicking the effects of morphine. In some cases, hope can also have important effects on fundamental physiological processes like respiration, circulation and motor function."
According to Dr Hedaya, clinical professor of psychiatry, in Psychology Today “Hope is critical in all healing. A book written by Jerome Frank Persuasion and healing deals with this topic very effectively. Hopelessness is one of the cardinal features of depression (as is helplessness). Hope and depression are inversely correlated. Hope assists healing and can in and of itself cause healing. Hope can keep the patient engaged in the process of healing.”,(Hope and Healing Research)
