Love

God is love. He is very much more than this, but He is love.(1 John 4:7-12). That is my conclusion after a lifetime of being with him and slowly getting to know him. “The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love”(Psalm 103:8).

Understand that when you accept Jesus, you enter into his royal family and become a “child of God”.  Know that He is a good and loving Father, and that He wants to meet all of your needs. (Philippians 4:19). We have security, intimacy and assurance that God works to the good of all that love him (Romans 8:28). Now that’s what I call love. I look toward God, lean upon him, accept that I need him and trust him. Read more about  God is Love, and also Seven breathtaking privileges of being a child of God

But what does this love look like? The Bible is his personal story of how He not only created the universe (Genesis 1:1), but also everything in it, including you and me. It is his desire to have relationship with us and to look after us, no matter how many times we have slipped up.

Biblical love is not a mushy, romantic kind of love, but is described as:
“ Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”(1 Corinthians 13:4-8).

I find this an interesting insight into the God of the universe. This website is dedicated to ‘Our Father in heaven’, his unconditional love for us and the many ways in which He can heal us. He loves us so much that He sent his Son to die for us, so that the way back into relationship with God the Father would be open to us.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

When Jesus died on the cross, He took upon himself the sins of the whole world, you and me included, for all time, so that He made it possible for everyone to come into relationship with God. No-one is excluded.
This is the way in which God shows his unconditional love for us. He does not want anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (to come into that place of being sorry for breaking his commandments, and to want to change their life around, knowing that they can’t do by themselves, but need God’s help) (2 Peter 3:9).

The advice from the book of Proverbs, one of the books of wisdom in the Bible is simple:
“Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life!”(Proverbs 3:7-8).

We also need to realise that no matter what we suffer in our bodies or in our mind in this life, God’s plan is to give his children (those who accept Jesus) an everlasting body which never wears out, with no more crying and never has any pain. (Revelation 21:4). This is an end to suffering in our bodies and in our minds for all eternity. This is the ultimate in healing. May God bless you richly in your search for healing and wholeness.
